After 15 years apart, this February will see the much loved New York vocal quartet The Tonics reunite for three special performances at New York City’s landmark venue, Joe’s Pub, at 425 Lafayette Street.

Bringing together all four members of the original quartet, the performances will see Cortés Alexander, Michael Patrick Coughlin, Gene Reed and Kathie Talbot first perform on February 28th, and then complete the series of performances on March 1 and March 8.

Having a wonderfully unique sound with intricate harmonies that will blow you away, the concerts will see The Tonics will feature the eclectic repertoire that they’ve become known for, with everything from Stephen Sondheim to Stevie Wonder, along with original songs, given The Tonics touch.

At their most popular in the 1990s, The Tonics dominated the club scenes in both New York City and Los Angeles, and were as much loved by the critics as the public, winning award after award, and gaining rave review after review. They have performed everywhere from the New York City’s Carnegie Hall (at the request of Sondheim, the Lincoln Center, Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theatre and the Gibson Amphitheatre, and television appearances have included both The Rosie O’Donnell Show and Good Morning America.

As committed to charitable work as they are to their music, the quartet have freely given their time to the S.T.A.G.E. Benefits for APLA, Los Angeles Shanti Foundation, the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center, and the March of Dimes Telethon, and whilst more recently they have been apart, none have stopped working. In Cortes Alexander‘s case, he’s been wowing the crowds in the Tony Award-winning show, “Liza’s at the Palace.” , and has recently released his solo debut record, “Swell,” is currently available on iTunes, Michael Patrick Coughlin, a songwriter, has been performing in clubs through Los Angeles, Gene Reed has been touring as a member of The Dan Band. Thsat then only leaves Kathie Talbot, and she has been just as successful, defining a role for herself as a well-respected film/TV composer and music producer, with her music and voice featured on Ugly Betty, CSI, Burn Notice and The Mentalist.

A definite must not miss event, tickets for these three special performances can be reserved at the Joes Pub website.
