Sean Chaplin Explains What The Real Gay Agenda Is (It’s Mostly A 2pm Thing)

Sean Chaplin, a passionate advocate of gay rights, composer and tenor in the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (don’t you just hate multi-talented people) has put together a new Youtube video that acts to explain, in perhaps not the more serious way, what the real gay agenda really is.

Currently gaining a whole lot of attention on both Youtube and the social bookmarking site Digg, the response does so far seem to be very positive, acting to not breed criticism but an open discussion on the stereotypical construction of what a gay person is and how that acts to shape people’s views of gay people.

For example, as part of a discussion on the Digg comments section about the video, where one commentator began talking about having “sexuality rubbed in my face”, the conversation developed to show the growing acceptance of the gay community, at least with younger members:

Eh, ok. To me, “rubbing it in my face” would mean this, for example:

I’m just standing around, minding my own business, and this guy walks up to me and says, “Hey man, I’m ***** gay. Yea, I like to ***** guys, not girls. Look at this picture of me ***** my boyfriend. How about that?” To which I’d say, “Hey, no need to rub it in my face.”

I don’t see how someone acting effeminate or exhibiting flamboyant behavior is rubbing their sexuality in my face. Straight people are perfectly capable of behaving the same way, and often do. It is not equivalent to gay.

Edit: My Dad’s reaction to seeing to guys holding hands at the mall was “***** *****,” which I never heard him say before in my life. Turns out the reason for him saying it was “the Bible says ***** are evil.”

Having watched the video we have to say we think we’re doing quite well on sticking to the gay agenda, well apart from the 2pm stuff, we’re falling a bit behind on that.
