Rachel Maddow Tells Ex Gay Richard Cohen He Has Blood On His Hands Concering Uganda

Rachel Maddow last night interviewed the head of the Healing Foundation and former gay, Richard Cohen, about the part he has played in the construction of the Anti Homosexuality bill in Uganda.
Cohen began the interview saying he believed that he and his organization had had little influence on the Bill, highlighting that the punishment of homosexuals had been going on since the 1950s, and that his organization was all about promoting love. Maddow, however, was quick to dismiss this through not only showing Steven Langa, one of the main proponent of the bill, teaching from Cohen’s book, Coming Out Straight, but also how information from the book, such as that which constructs homosexuals as individuals who prey on schoolchildren is being used to justify the existence of the law.
Telling Cohen that he had blood on his hands, Maddow was also able to make Cohen admit that he was making false statements about homosexuality by reading him a list of factors he says could cause homosexuality which include:
- Divorce
– Death of a parent
- Adoption
- Religion
- Race
Denying that he had included race on the list, Cohen was then forced to admit it was in the book, and that it was not a factor that lead to homosexuality, before being further discredited by Maddow in what should become a textbook example of how to deal with supposed experts who believe there is a cure for homosexuality.
