The Proposition 8 trial in San Francisco, which is debating whether the decision by California to ban gay marriage was unconstitutional, has seen one false accusation about the gay community raised time and time again by those supporting Proposition 8.
And that accusation is:
“Homosexuals are 12 times more likely to molest children.”
This particular version of the comes from the mouth of Dr. Hak-Shing William Tam, the dedicated Proposition 8 supporter who first volunteered to act as a defendant in the trial before thenasking to be relieved after believing it would lead him to come under attack from those opposed to Propsition 8. Called as a hostile witness anyway, the testimony by Tam was shocking in it’s homophobic content which even the Proposition 8 team tried to distance itself from.
