Lady Gaga Urges Senators To Repeal DADT And End Social And Governmental Oppression
With the Pentagon releasing findings on the impact of repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell today, this oppressive legislation is on the minds of a lot of people, one of whom is Lady Gaga who yesterday released a new video on just why it is so important that Senators stick to their word on debating the issue and repealing it.
Speaking about why it is so important that DADT is repealed, Lady Gaga speaks of how it is acting to reinforce the social and governmental oppression the country that is not only teaching kids that it is okay to hate purely because someone is different, but also more importantly causing there to be rising numbers of gay suicides because they don’t see a way out of this oppression.
Going on to talk about how it has been shown over recent years that the public is in favour of a repeal, Lady Gaga highlights how the soon to be released report shows that those serving in the military feel the same way too and it is now only those in the Senate that are standing in the way of an end to an oppressive piece of legislation that could act to fundamentally change society when repealed.
