Harvard University Calls In Police Following Destruction Of Gay And Lesbian Literature
Lamont Library, a Harvard University library has been forced to call in police following the discovery of 40 books on gay and lesbian matters that had been destroyed after having urine poured on them.
Being treated as a hate crime it is reported a bottle was found by the side of the books with the co-chair of the Harvard College Queer Students and Allies, Marco Chan, saying he was “outraged” by the vandalism, with Harvard College Dean Evelynn M Hammonds adding “Harvard College will not tolerate acts of vandalism, especially those that appear to be motivated by hate or bias. “[As] a community, we will continue to affirm our shared values of dignity and respect for everyone in our community”
