Anti Gay Marriage Support Leader Endorses Republican Sean Duffy For Congress

Julaine Appling, the leader of the 2006 campaign to ban gay marriage via the Wisconsin constitution has given her backing to Republican Sean Duffy for Congress due to his support of “traditional marriage and other timeless values“.

Saying that she believed he was best positioned to beat Democrat Julie Lassa to the position in the November election, Appling’s endorsement is seen as significant following opponent Dan Mielke last week saying that Duffy, who appeared in a low budget film about a gay couple getting married, was soft on the issue of gay marriage.

Duffy has said that he is in support of the 2006 ban and that it was not consistent with his values.
